During puberty, our bodies can change in so many different ways. Things get bigger, things develop, basically, lots of changes happen to the body and can be overwhelming. Understanding the developments in the body and the names of the body parts we have is crucial for understanding puberty.

Between the ages of 9 and 14, you may have started to experience puberty, or the changes that happen when your body changes from a child to a young adult. Then again, you may not have. Either way, don’t worry. This is all normal. The amazing female body can go through so many changes during this time. This video clearly explains what is happening to the female body both internally and externally. All of this is completely normal. It may happen at different stages and times for each unique person but that is completely normal for you.

There can be so many changes that happen to the male body during puberty. This video details all the amazing changes that happen to the body during this time. Such as, changes in the penis, testicles, vocal cords and to body hair. All these changes are completely normal and they happen to all biological males at different rates and times for each person.

As we discussed in the puberty section, development happens at different rates and times for each individual person. This sometimes can cause people to become anxious that they are not developing quickly enough or their body part is the wrong size. There can be a lot of pressure to look a certain way but know that you are completely fine the way you are! Things will develop and change in the sequence that is right for you so be kind to yourself and others.

This is one of the most common if not the most common question we get in the WISER programme from people with penises. With influences from porn, movies and the media there can be a lot of anxiety around penis size. Penis size does not affect who you are as a person. Size dose not matter! Same way having bigger eyes does not make you see better, having a bigger penis does not affect your ability to be intimate or masturbate. Do not put yourself under any pressure regarding penis size. The size you are is the fit for who you are as a person.!

We get a lot of questions around breast size and what is the right size and how big your breasts should be. The answer is that this is completely unique to you!! Breasts come in all different shapes, colours and sizes. One will sometimes grow bigger than the other and this is completely normal.
